This is the first page of a handwritten essay by Mrs. Stonewall Jackson describing President Theodore Roosevelt's visit to Charlotte on October 19, 1905. In the essay, she describes the day's events, a visit to her house by the President's wife, the authenticity of the Mecklenburg Declaration of Independence, among other items relating to the day.
